Grant Writer Intern (Remote)
Working with the Executive Director to create a database of potential grants and timelines for the entire grant writing process.
Create and maintain a Grant Calendar which shows when a grant application and/or report is due and the contact information.
Review funder websites, printed application guidelines and determine appropriateness of potential funder
Identify areas of needs where a grant would help solve a problem or fill a need.
Research and help write, review and edit all affiliate grant proposals (both private foundations and government grants)
Evaluate grant writing strategy to adapt to the organizations new strategic plan
Learn how to communicate with interested parties about what we do via phone and email.
Develop a list of suppliers who work with Rivers Charitable Institute.
Attend community, career, and fundraising events with Rivers Charitable Institute team to share information with attendees about what we do and how to get involved.
Engage media on Rivers Charitable Institute activities
– QUALIFICATIONS –
Excellent research and writing skills
Knowledge of funding requirements and ideally previous grant writing experience is preferred
Experience in the sickle cell advocacy is preferred
Experience in quantitative data analysis and presentation preferred
Able to work with Microsoft products (Word, Outlook) and can pick up new technological skills easily
Organized and is a self-starter
Reliable in a deadline-driven environment
Ability to thrive in a start-up environment
