Krisis Kare Package Program

Krisis Kare Package

A "Krisis Kare Package" kit is for Sickle Cell Disease patients who have been admitted to the hospital due to a Sickle Cell Crisis.

When a Sickle Cell Disease patient is admitted to the hospital due to an ongoing SCD crisis, pain management is of major importance, and needs to be addressed immediately. Pain medications are very expensive. Often, it can take up to 4-6 days to gain control of this pain.

During the patients stay, this kit helps to provide many necessities and helps to cut some out-of-pocket expenses. It includes numerous items that the family is often dependent upon the hospital to supply, over and over again, at great cost.

It includes heating pads and pouches to help relieve pain, Powerade to replenish electrolytes and hydrate the patient’s body, a thermometer to monitor body temperature and/or fever, pain relieving medications, a throw blanket, bottled water high in pH, hygiene packs, hand sanitizer, a notebook, pens, pencils, puzzle book, coloring book (etc.), and a $25 gift card for hospital parking assistance for the patient’s immediate family. All items will be packaged in a durable, military grade, backpack to sustain a substantial amount of use over the years.

The goal of the "Krisis Kare Package" program is to assist Sickle Cell Disease patients and families in offsetting some of the extensive hospital expenses that occur when a SCD patient is admitted due to a SCD Crisis. The KKP kit can also prove to a very reliable resource for a quick response to managing Sickle Cell Disease in-house.

These Krisis Kare Packages will make a great gift for family members and friends living with SCD. Gift them one today!
